SULFURZYME®: Everyday support for major body systems

June 1, 2014 2 comments

Everyone needs sulfur and here’s why.
Sulfur is involved with many functions of the body including:

  • Purification and cleansing of the body and blood
  • Protection and repair of the nerve’s myelin sheath –  damage commonly results in memory deficits along with specific movement and function problems
  • Reduce chronic inflammation – mounting evidence suggests that long-term whole body inflammation sets the foundation for depression and many serious, age-related diseases including heart disease, cancer and neurodegenerative conditions like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s
  • Mitigate allergies
  • Aid liver in bile secretion and fat digestion
  • Helps maintain pH balance
  • Metabolizes carbohydrates and is significant for insulin production {diabetics, pay attention!}
  • Helps assimilate vitamins for beautiful hair and skin {this was why I started taking Sulfurzyme}
  • Normalizes heart function
  • Key component in sulfur-bearing amino acids, the building blocks of protein and muscle tissue
  • And more!

MSM (Methyl Sulfonyl Methane) is a source for sulfur and occurs naturally in food. Unfortunately, the amount of MSM we need to sustain optimum health is deficient in large scale commercially grown whole foods. As we fail to adequately replenish our sulfur reserves on a daily basis, we become more vulnerable to opportunistic diseases and degenerative conditions.

Ingredients with Purpose & Integrity Sulfurzyme caps
Sulfurzyme combines pharmaceutical-grade MSM and NingXia Wolfberries. Sulfur in the form of MSM equalizes water pressure inside of our cells. This allows toxins to flow out of the cell membrane more efficiently which in turn minimizes things such as inflammation and nutrient deficiencies. This is particularly important and helpful for those who have arthritis, bursitis, tendonitis, nervous system disorders and auto immune diseases. MSM also supports the immune system, liver, circulation, and proper intestinal function and works to scavenge free radicals.*

For sulfur to be used efficiently, proper calcium amounts must be present for the sulfur to be metabolized. And remember, it takes magnesium to metabolize calcium. Ninxgia Wolfberries are added to Sulfurzyme for this reason. NingXia Wolfberries are a gold mine of nutrients containing Vitamin A, B1, B2, B6, E, C, beta carotene, 18 amino acids, and 21 trace minerals. They are a significant source of chromium, calcium, magnesium, potassium, copper and zinc which are required for enzyme activation and sulfur metabolism.

Why do people use Sulfurzyme?
A few years ago, I was diagnosed with eczema. The doctor advised me there was no known cure but recommended some drug therapy. When I researched the drugs, I found they were carcinogenic so I knew that wasn’t my path of healing. Topical creams, lotions, and even essential oils were irritating to my skin. So I chose to work internally. I take two capsules of Sulfurzyme when I wake up and two before bed. More if I start to experience any swelling (typically in my left hand or around my left eye). Here’s why others are typically using Sulfurzyme:

  • ACIDITY – control problems associated with gastric hyper-acidity
  • AGING – countering the collagen cross-linking (cornea disease) associated with aging
  • ARTHRITIS – helps to relieve acute and chronic pain, reduce swelling and inflammation, and  return blood chemistry towards normal
  • DIGESTIVE TRACT – relief from chronic constipation and diarrhea
  • HAIR AND NAILS – improved growth (this was a side effect for me!)
  • INFLAMMATION – relief from various musculoskeletal disorders
  • INHALANT ALLERGIES – reduces adverse responses to pollen, dust, etc.
  • LUNGS – relief from lung dysfunction, benefits to lung tissue
  • MENTAL BALANCE – increased alertness, enhanced ability to concentrate
  • MUSCLE AND LEG CRAMPS– relieve athletic fatigue, reduce cramps
  • PARASITIC INFECTIONS – in vitro testing has determined growth inhibition or killing of parasitic organisms by coating intestinal tract to prevent attachment of parasites
  • SKIN AND INTERNAL ORGANS – accelerate wound healing, treatment of psoriasis, eczema and dermatitis – preserves pliancy of connective tissue – improvement of allergy related skin problems
  • VASODILATOR – by opening up the blood vessels, MSM helps to bring oxygen to damaged areas and promote healing.

Some people say they are allergic to sulfur
Usually people are allergic to Sulfa, an antibiotic often prescribed for urinary tract infections. Sulphurzyme and Sulfa are not related in any way. The sulfur in Sulfurzyme is actually a daily requirement of the body. And if you take too much, the body will release it.

If you are allergic to egg yolks, you may not do well with Sulfurzyme.

Sulfurzyme is a great detoxifier. If you begin taking Sulfurzyme in large amounts, the detoxifying effects could create headaches, skin rash or diarrhea. I like to ease into my supplements. Natural substances usually take a while to take effect. If I reach a detox level that is uncomfortable, I back down to the previous dosage for a week or two. My body tells me when I need more. And it tells me when I need to take it down a notch.

ENZYMES: What are they & why do we care?

November 1, 2012 1 comment

Enzymes are essential to life, health, and vitality. Without digestive enzymes, our food would sit in our stomach for weeks and we would eventually die.

The purpose of enzymes is to break-down molecules and put them back together in useful ways. For humans, digestive enzymes break down the foods we eat so the nutrients, vitamins, and minerals can be absorbed into the blood stream and carried throughout the body.

Unfortunately, we’re born with a limited supply of enzymes and we can run into health issues when our reserves get too low. Early signs of enzyme depletion are…

  • Heartburn
  • Bloating
  • Gas
  • Allergy-like symptoms to food
  • Stomach aches
  • Diarrhea
  • Constipation
  • Weight gain/loss
  • Fatigue
  • Headaches
  • Brain fog
  • Yeast infections
  • Joint stiffness
  • Skin eruptions
  • Eczema
  • Psoriasis
  • Immune compromise
  • Liver, pancreas, and intestinal problems

One way to alleviate these symptoms is to eat raw organic foods. However, the enzymes in a particular food, let’s say organic carrots, only breakdown carrots. Enzymes are ultra sensitive to heat. As a result, processed and cooked foods are usually devoid of active enzymes.

Another approach to alleviate symptoms of enzyme depletion is supplementation. Medical research shows that enzyme supplements can help fight illness, reduce or block the development of life-threatening diseases, and slow the effects of aging.1 So who wants to enzyme supplements now?!!!

Young Living offers enzyme supplements that include essential oils, which increase the oxygen required to fuel human metabolism. Enzymes and essential oils work in a synergistic way to promote a healthier digestive system.2

Enzymes can be taken in many different quantities for many different needs. Young Living offers a variety of enzyme supplements; Allerzyme for allergies, Detoxzyme to help detoxify and cleanse, Essentialzyme to stimulate overall enzyme activity, Essentialzyme-4 to optimize nutrient absorption through a dual time-release technology, and MightyZyme for children.

November 2012 Promotion: Each month, Young Living offers a volume purchase promotion. This month, you will receive a FREE Essentialzymes-4, 5ml Spearmint essential oil, and 15ml Fennel essential oil with a 235PV purchase. That is a savings of $100.98! The Spiritual Practice of Joy

April 4, 2012 Leave a comment

JOY is a sign that life has found its purpose, its reason for being. As a spiritual practice, joy can grow out of faith, gratitude, grace, hope, and love. Essential oils can support your exploration of these spiritual qualities. In fact, there is an essential oil blend called Joy to help you!

When experiencing self-doubt, we have lost faith and move into survival mode. By working with the first chakra, we can work with our sense of trust and a belief that all will be provided. Allow your experience as you place a drop of Joy 1” above your pubic bone. Notice if you can identify the belief that is feeding your uncertainty. Is there a different message that feels more aligned with the truth? How can you honor this message?

To grow in your gratitude, massage the center of your belly {the second chakra} with Joy. Allow yourself to enjoy being admired, respected, and treasured. How does it feel to be grateful? These feeling states support a purposeful life that serves and appreciates good fortune.

If you need to be more kind to yourself, gently rub a drop of Joy over your heart. Placing both hands over your heart center, feel the elegance of your heartbeat, the ease of your breath. Forgive yourself for any cruelty. Ask to be forgiven. Can you feel the lightness of Joy? This is grace.

Sometimes we lose hope. What we expect didn’t happen. In this case, place Joy on your breastbone. Open your heart to accept divine timing. When you feel a shift, place a drop of Joy at your third eye. Is there a new possibility? What might be the gift in a delay? Could something better be in the works?

Finally, we come to love. When inhaled, the complimentary blend of essential oils in Joy helps surface memories of being held and loved. These memories of sharing deep affection with another can help us break through blocks so we can give and receive love again.

JOY is an essential oil blend of bergamot, ylang ylang, geranium, coriander, lemon, mandarin, jasmine, roman chamomile, palmarosa, and rose.

**10% discount** on Joy when purchased in April 2012.

Essential Oil Spritzers to Influence Well-Being

May 31, 2011 Leave a comment

It is the subtle qualities of life that interest me these days. One subtle influence that fascinates me is aromatherapy – the use of essential oils for psychological and physical well-being.

Did you know that inhaling or diffusing essential oils in your environment can trigger changes in the brain, sedate or stimulate the nervous system {depending your need}, prompt blood pressure changes in the body, and normalize hormonal secretions? It’s true.

Whether you are on the anxious or depressed side of life, there’s an essential oil to help you return to life’s sweet spot.

Not all essential oils are created equal, though. Young Living’s Therapeutic-Grade Essential Oils provide researched healing qualities, where synthetic and perfume-grade oils do not. That’s what I like about Young Living. Their seed selection, cultivation standards, distillation practices and testing procedures preserve the therapeutic qualities of Nature’s pharmacy.

Behave so the aroma of your actions may enhance the general sweetness of the atmosphere.  – Henry David Thoreau, American naturalist, poet & philosopher

If you live in the Milwaukee WI area, I am hosting a home event where we will explore essential oils to enhance the general sweetness of our atmosphere. Learn how to cool the body’s inflammatory response to burns, fevers, bug bites, and toxic overload with essential oils. Create an atomizer for your sacred space or design a personal fragrance. Let essential oils devour those lingering odors found in sports bags, bathrooms, and hotel rooms. Design a “happy” spray!

SARA™: Therapeutic-Grade Essential Oil Blend for Abuse

January 28, 2011 7 comments

Release stress and negative emotions from
repressed or programmed cellular memory of traumatic experiences

Recently, I was working with a client who had sexual abuse littering her family tree. She thought she had personally addressed the issue but recently discovered that her children were now involved. I was asking if she understood how the familial patterns were different from families that do not experience sexual abuse. She was clueless but recognized the need to change the abuse blueprint.

Young Living Essential Oils offers an essential oil blend, SARA™, to support this kind of change at a cellular level. SARA™ stands for sexual and ritual abuse. This therapeutic essential oil blend helps us soothe deep emotional wounds and start to recover from the traumatic memory of sexual or ritual torment and other forms of physical or emotional abuse.

Trauma can produce conditioned emotional responses that hamper the healthy function of our body systems and dampen our enjoyment of life. SARA™ can help release the pain of unpleasant memories and start to recognize any habituated behavioral and emotional patterns that keep us stuck in low frequency emotions of hatred, resentment, panic or depression. Once we can honestly look at our situation without judgment, the trauma will release and we are free to move forward in a positive manner.

SARA™ is formulated with the objective of releasing trauma from our cellular memory. Specifically, the liver (which stores anger, bitterness, and frustration) and the amygdala (the brain’s memory center for fear and trauma) are targeted. SARA™ contains these therapeutic-grade essential oils:

Ylang Ylang – helps balance male and female energies so one can move closer towards being in spiritual attunement; bring awareness to thoughts, supports feelings of self-love, confidence, joy and peace.

Geranium – has anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-depressant, and sedative properties; can help release negative memories, balance the emotions, lift the spirit and foster hope; can help lower defenses that prevent us from being open and receptive to new ideas.

Lavender – helps promote consciousness, health and love; traditionally has been known to balance the body and to work wherever there is a need.

Orange – brings peace and happiness to the mind and joy to the heart; a 1995 Mie University study documented the ability of citrus fragrances to combat depression and boost immunity.

Blue Tansy – is an anti-inflammatory and helps cleanse the liver; calms the lymphatic system.

Cedarwood – used traditionally by the North American Indians to enhance their potential for spiritual communication; can help to open the pineal gland.

Rose – is the highest frequency of oils; may help enhance the frequency of every cell, bringing balance and harmony to the body; thought to produce a magnetic energy that enhances self-love.

White Lotus –lifts and stabilizes the emotions, creating a powerful sense of emotional, physical and spiritual wellbeing; research in China found that white lotus contains anti-cancerous and strong immune supporting properties.

Almond Oil – carrier oil

Many bio-chemicals in essential oils support healthy function of body systems. Monoterpenes occur in practically all essential oils, work against free radical damage, and help cells restore properly programmed strands of RNA and DNA. Sesquiterpenes have the ability to surpass the blood-brain barrier helping to oxygenate the pineal and pituitary glands and erase misinformation from cellular memory. The aldehydes and esters of particular essential oils are very calming and sedating to the central nervous system.

You must use therapeutic-grade essential oils, not the type of oils you find in the health food store, to achieve these beneficial effects. Young Living distills or sources essential oils that have the optimal naturally-occurring blend of constituents to maximize the desired therapeutic effect.

To begin your work with SARA, prepare a safe quiet space for your treatment. Massage the bottoms of your feet with one drop of Valor® on each sole. This helps to increase feelings of strength, courage, and self-esteem in the face of adversity. Open your bottle of SARA™ and breathe the aroma deep into your core. To address physical trauma, apply SARA™ topically over the area of abuse. Take some time to feel this part of your body. To liberate emotional trauma, apply SARA™ over your heart, resting your palms over your heart, eyes closed to encourage inner awareness. Often there are feelings of anger, resentment, or a desire to get even. To release these energies, apply Release™ over your heart and liver (located on the right side along the lower ribs).

Let your emotions flow. Be gentle. Listen for your intuitive sense of how you can use your oils. Give permission for mistakes. Consider what is being learned and how you might best be with this moment. Let go and let the oils rewrite the holy transcript of your DNA to reflect your divine nature. To complete your session, give thanks to your body for holding your pain until you were ready to consciously move this energy through your experience.

SARA™ can be very powerful for physical and emotional recovery with abused animals, too. You may need to settle the animal first with an oil blend like Peace & Calming® or Grounding™. Then, they will be ready for the significant releasing power of SARA™.

If you feel the need for additional support, please contact me. An Emotion Code session or a liver cleanse can assist in the process of letting go.

Blessings to you,
Kim
